Hello friends

It has been a very, very long time since I sent an update as to my Take A Seat Adventures and all the other adventures that have become part of my life!

These days I spend the vast majority of my time behind the camera as a Director for Encompass Films, bringing other people's stories to life. It was actually during the first day of 'Take A Seat - Sharing A Ride Across America' that I became acquainted with the subject of our most recent and perhaps the most powerful story I've had the pleasure of telling.

'Coming To My Senses' will be a feature length documentary about Aaron Baker, who, in 1999 broke his neck on the motocross circuit and became completely paralyzed. 15 years later, despite neurosurgeons giving him a one in a million chance of ever feeding himself again, he walked, unaided across Death Valley. 20 grueling miles in 6 days, agonizing over each and every step. This desert walk forms the backbone of a documentary about his 15 year journey from paralysis. While we certainly intend for this documentary to be released to mainstream audiences, Aaron believes it can also be used as a valuable tool to help those living through the early days of spinal cord injury remain hopeful and focused on recovery in hospital and beyond.

Having filmed 70% of the footage, we are currently raising completion funds on Kickstarter to be able to edit and produce this story with the quality it deserves. If this story inspires you or perhaps just piques your interest, please do take a look at the project trailer and campaign page here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/89498558/coming-to-my-senses

If you feel so inclined, we would love you to back the project at the link above, but that isn't the only way you can help. You can share it on any social media, and if you know of anyone that maybe touched by this story perhaps on a personal level, please share it with them. Getting eyes on Aaron's story is critical at this stage.

And for those of you interested in the Take A Seat Series, you'll be pleased to know various iterations of it are still doing the rounds on international TV, though I am usually the last to know where and when they air!! I still get out on the tandem though with Nadia, mostly to go to the shops, but I can feel the bike bucking in eager anticipation of being taken out on the open road once more!

I hope this finds you all in good health, and please reach out if we haven't been in touch for a while!
May the road be long and winding!
Dom
