Dynamic width on horizontal menu

Hi,

I want to know if exists a way to setup the horizontal menu to
automatic get a full width based on the menu caption.

I mean, I can setup the width of the main menu and each menu item, but
I want in example, create a dynamic menu, that has menuitems generated
by the user, then if someone create a menuitem of two words or more, or
large items, it doesn't resize the main menu div.

It could be great to asign a fixed left and right padding for each
menuitem and the mainmenu width automatic.

Is possible?
