There is something really annoying about all "Apps" on mobile devices
and here I suggest a solution in which Dolphin Browser could be
involved.
The vast majority of applications are just some sorts of web viewers
with a little bit customized appearance, but they use precious space,
are generally slow, buggy and rarely offer the possibility to get the
direct link to the content.
A very simple solution would be to give to users the ability to use
their own CSS styles. Just imagine how many apps would become
completely obsolete!
Dolphin Browser seems to be largely adopted, at least on Android
devices, so I wanted to try to create a little addon for this.
Unfortunately I have read that the is no possibility for now to
develop 3rd-party addons..
Maybe there is ?
Or if not, here are some more details on how I imagined this addon.
Maybe the official team would be interested too:
- custom CSS is great, but it is unrealistic to thing that everyone
will create a style-sheets: there is a need for centralized platform
for sharing these style-scheets, and this platform seems to already
exists:
http://userstyles.org/
- the idea would be to get this addon connects to this library and
filters available styles for mobile devices
- another function would be of course to use custom local files.
So, what do you think?
