Noone wants to lose the things we love about living in Bend. And yet the world is changing around us every day. Change brings challenges, but also opportunities. Our goal is to help greater Bend seize on the opportunities.
Envision Bend brings people together from all corners of our community to discuss and shape our shared future. Join our community dialogue to envision a more vibrant, inclusive, and resilient Bend.
This User Spotlight was a delightful chance where we got to discuss with Andre Louis, a blind musician, about his journey with Envision. Andre is totally blind since birth. He is married to a wonderful, sighted woman and has two children. He has been playing the keyboard for more than 30 years now. He is a sound designer and music composer too. He believes that music can be representative of what something stands for. Interestingly, we at Envision work with Andre for all our music requirements. We liked the idea of working with a talent in the community.
My typical day is when I'm either at home or head out for gigs. While I am at home, I read a lot. I'm a Youtube creator as well, so I spend some good share of my time on that. Apart from this, I practise for gigs. When I have to head out for gigs, it is to perform at gigs or related to that. My wife takes care of a lot of other things that need attention in the house.
I'm absolutely blown away by Envision. I use it day-to-day, to check my mails, read displays. Envision reads small displays, backs of devices when no other app would. For instance, the other day I was in a car, pointed out the window, it read number plates/ sign boards while passing. Now that is something else.
I've tried a whole variety of apps that claim to do these things. None of them is what Envision is. I also remember relying on people to read out things to me. It definitely was not a great feeling to depend on people and apps that are not all that good.
Envision Greater Fond du Lac is the combined Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Organization for Fond du Lac County. This unique combination affords Envision the distinct vantage point of providing support and resources to not only businesses, but also the people who are employed within.
Typically, a Chamber of Commerce is responsible for advocating on behalf of businesses, regardless of size, and providing access to valuable resources and relationships. Similarly, an Economic Development Organization provides resources to those looking to start, relocate or expand a business. What is a common denominator in both? Workforce talent.
Workforce talent can be described as individuals who possess the potential to drive organizational growth. It is no secret Fond du Lac County is in a talent attraction hold. So, what is Envision Greater Fond du Lac doing to address this hold? Let us share a few ways.
In September 2022, Envision collaborated with Fond du Lac County and Fond du Lac County Capital Resources to launch a first-of-its-kind-in-Wisconsin Worker Relocation Incentive Program. This county-wide workforce attraction and retention tool for employers provides an additional option to incentivize talent to work and live within the county. For all the details on this program (for employers and employees), please visit

Each summer, Envision hosts 100-plus college interns and co-ops from local businesses through the Summer Series for Interns & Co-ops. This hand-crafted program is designed exclusively for Fond du Lac-area businesses and their college interns and co-op students. The goal is to assist businesses in their recruitment and retention strategies, while promoting the greater Fond du Lac area. More information about this program can be found at

The newest addition to the workforce strategies is the Fond du Lac R.O.C.K. (Retention, Opportunity, Community, Knowledge) program. This program is designed to show high school students who are not intending to attend college, the military or work for a family-run business, all the career opportunities available throughout Fond du Lac County by way of tours, job shadows and more.
Project G.R.I.L.L., in its 16th year, is a project-based learning experience for high school students that strives to develop a strong future workforce by positively highlighting careers within manufacturing. Project G.R.I.L.L. teaches students the steps of taking an idea from concept through production with the end result being a fully functional grill. Additionally, the students tour all sponsor business locations and Moraine Park Technical College to learn more about local opportunities.

If you want to improve your focus and motivation, guided visualization can help. Using visualization techniques can help you to achieve your goals. Consistently spending just 10 minutes a day on what you want to do with your life, the person you want to become or the life you want to lead will help you focus and work towards it with improved motivation. Choose to practice visualization techniques each day to help you build upon your goals over time.
Prioritize doing what matters most to you and focus on taking action towards your vision and goals. Improving each day by just a small percentage may not seem like much, but it can make a difference to your mindset and overall success. Visualization techniques work like a compound effect over time. Working even on small goals in the short term will build motivation to create a long-term vision. Track and complete goals in the EnVision app to start building your momentum.
Our goals feature helps you to set and keep track of your most important goals. Add new goals and connect them to your daily intentions. Describe your goals visually with an image. Update your progress and add notes to keep yourself focused and on track.
Setting an intention can help to focus the mind and give you the motivation you need to work towards your goal or vision. Intentions help to remind us of what we want to achieve and who we want to become. Our new Intention Setting Feature allows users to set a daily intention in the EnVision app so that you can be reminded of your goal and how you want to work towards it that day.
I have chosen community 1st and foremost because for me, this is what Envision is mostly about. Sure the setting is dreamy, there are incredible artists and countless Kombucha flavours to be tried, but in my opinion, what really makes this festival special is the group of people it attracts.
The idea behind the festival is to gather like minded souls in quest of a better world. So we can talk to each other and realise that there are many of us wanting change. So we can network, and recharge in order to go back to our lives inspired to make the necessary changes, ready to take action. This is the underlying intention of the Festival, which naturally sets the tone for the 4 day week end. The speakers, teachers, leaders, artists and even the volunteers are carefully chosen to ensure that this message is the heart of the Festival and it is truly felt in every aspect.
I'm Melissa, I was born in Mexico and grew up with my feet in the sand, my skin always salty from the sea and my curly hair knotted. My parents are French, my mum is half Senegalese and I lived in Marseille for 6 years, I also lived in London for 11 years and I have now been living in Central America for 5 years but the World is my Home. After living most of my life as I thought I should; going to university, completing a Masters degree, working in the corporate World and spending money on things and experiences that brought me temporary fulfilment, I found Yoga. I now realise that I was looking for something, without knowing I was, or what it was. I longed for meaning that no pair of shoes, holiday or promotion could ever give me. I fell in love with the practice. I started meditating daily, went to yoga classes most days and I began to notice how my spiritual practice positively radiated to every area of my life. Yoga led me to the most profound realisation - Everything I ever longed for was within me.Yoga impacted my life and my relationships so profoundly, that I felt inspired to deepen my understanding of yogic philosophy and share it with others. Yoga Teacher Training revolutionised my understanding not only of Yoga but of mySelf and Life itself.I have since continued to learn from wonderful teachers that have guided me and inspired me to further my learning and continue on the path of self-realization. I guide classes, workshops, ceremonies, retreats and Yoga Teacher Trainings and I continue to be amazed by the healing and transforming powers of breath, movement, stillness, intention and connection and am grateful every day for the opportunity to share these practices with others.
