Dokan signed certificate

I would like to use Dokan on x64 architecture (Vista or Win7).
However, I saw on Dokan website that this can only be achieved by
disabling the driver signing policy (ReadyDriver plus) or by providing
a signed certificate.

I have two questions:
-Is there any chance that we could see a public release of a
certificate for the latest Dokan.sys?
-Is there a change in the installation procedure when using a
certificate? Do I have to modify dokanctl (createservice,
startservice, etc.)?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

Dokan driver is singed and you can install it on your x86 machine.
Dokan supports Windows XP, 2003, Vista, 2008, 7 x86 and Windows 2003, Vista, 7
2008R2 x64.
I think you saw a document for development. If you want to build the driver
by yourself and install it, you need your certificate or disable it.

Thanks

Hi guys,

Nothing specific to Dokan about signing.
Any executable binary can be signed (sys, dll, exe, etc...)
You need to buy your own certificate (see Verisign, comodo, etc...)
Then sign at least the dokan.sys file (that's the only file that requires to be signed).
To sign a file, see
You may have to sign your inf file too (assuming you have one).

Note that once you own your own certificate, I recommend you sing all your binaires.

Hope it helps
William
