The crafting system in Dying Light 2 isn't particularly complex, but it does make use of a wide range of materials and other resources. Filed under other resources are Infected Trophies, which mostly you'll need to upgrade your blueprints at a Craftmaster. Though some mods will also require them.
Infected Trophies come in different "rarities" as well, with the higher grades dropping from more difficult enemies. Makes sense. But mostly you'll want a truckload of the lower tier ones to upgrade blueprints, and that means killing a ton of zombies.
Fortunately, there's a fairly efficient method you can employ to farm these trophies right from the early stages of the game. As an additional bonus, you'll also be able to get your hands on a good stash of other crafting materials, valuables, and earn some combat XP at the same time.
While this method works from the very early stages of Dying Light 2, literally as soon as you reach the city, it won't be easy or efficient if you don't have some half-decent weapons. The further you've progressed the easier it will be.
Once you're tooled up it's time to go hunting. But make sure it's the daytime before hitting the streets. It also doesn't matter which level the location is, you can clear out a level 1 location in the later game ridiculously easy but it will still drop those important Infected Trophies.
The quickest and most efficient farms are the small purple icons on the map, labeled such as Dark Hollow or Forsaken Store. The game tells you to visit at night because they're a great source of crafting materials but during the day are crammed full of sleeping zombies.
It's precisely because of this you want to visit during the day. And since there's a couple outside the Bazaar in Old Villedor, even early on you have an easy place to hit. It doesn't have to be this one, you can enter any of these locations on both parts of the map and the results will be the same. Just always remember to enter during the day.
As soon as you crouch down and enter you'll immediately be faced with enemies who have been awoken by your noisy presence and will all start to attack. This is where items like the UV bars and the UV flashlight come into play, as you can use these to give yourself some breathing room to dish out your own damage.
Likewise, tossing a couple of molotovs into the crowd is a good strategy, just make sure you don't get too close else you'll take damage yourself. Otherwise, just start swinging. Using melee attacks on burning enemies or those being affected by the UV light will soon dispense with them.
Importantly, don't search any bodies. Wait until the entire room is cleared before you start looting anything. It's a small space with a lot of enemies and while they're not too difficult to deal with if you spend any time not attacking you'll soon start to suffer.
When they're all dead, loot the building of its materials first as often this will provide enough time for the zombie bodies to de-spawn leaving little loot bags behind for you to pick up. It's just a little quicker than searching every single body and keep popping your survivor sense to make sure you didn't miss any.
Many of the enemies in these locations will drop Infected Trophies and ultimately it should only take a couple of minutes to clear the room and grab all the loot. Then you can either move on to the next location or go back to a rest spot, sleep until the following morning and go again.
If you choose to go back and sleep until the next day then return, the enemies will have respawned but not all of the loot inside the building, so it's actually even quicker to clear up, collect the Infected Trophies, and move on. And for maximum speed, you'll want to target the Forsaken Stores over the Dark Hollows. But both types are loaded up with trophy-dropping infected enemies.
The only type of Infected Trophies you won't really find with this method is the unique variant. For those, you need to hit bigger enemies, such as the goons you would find at a military outpost. You don't need as many in your inventory, but as you come across these locations definitely grab them.
There are enough of these locations across the map that you could quite easily spend a daytime cycle going from one to another to another and getting a heap of infected trophies, crafting materials, and valuables with minimal effort. However you choose to proceed, these locations are the quickest and easiest to clear for some great rewards.

Dying Light 2 is full of weapon mods, equipment, and gear, making the player a full-blown parkour zombie killing machine which requires Infected Trophies for upgrades. But, as players continue to level up their skills and abilities, they'll also have to upgrade all of their tools like mods, lockpicks, the grappling hook, and even Dying Light 2's paraglider to keep their gear powerful enough. The only way to do this is by collecting Infected Trophies, which can be collected by searching the bodies of infected virals, volatiles, and any other type of infected that isn't just a regular biter. Unfortunately, these upgrades can get costly very quickly, so players will need a good way to farm trophies.
There are three different kinds of infected trophies in Dying Light 2. First, there are 'Uncommon' trophies that will mostly be looted off of virals or other low-tier infected like bolters. Next, 'Rare' infected trophies can sometimes be looted off virals but will mostly be found on bigger infected like the Banshees and Goons. Finally, 'Unique' infected trophies have a slight chance of dropping from virals but will mostly drop from the strongest infected like Violtiles and GRE Anaomlies during the night in Dying Light 2.
Players need infected trophies to upgrade just about every piece of equipment in the game. This includes any weapon mods, throwables like the DIY grenade, healing medicine, immunity boosters, and even lockpicks. These upgrades can be bought at any craft master on the map and will get very costly after just a few upgrades to a single piece of equipment. Players won't just find infected trophies while running on rooftops or the streets during the day, so they'll have to resort to other farming methods if they want to get upgrades for their equipment fast. The only pieces of equipment that don't need infected trophies to upgrade are Nightrunner tools like the paraglider and Dying Light 2's grappling hook.
There are two efficient ways to farm infected trophies in Dying Light 2. The first is to go into any Dark Hollow/Forsaken Store during the day and kill all of the infected in each place. These areas are full of virals during the day and will drop Uncommon or Rare trophies 100% of the time. The second way to farm infected trophies in Dying Light 2 is to head out during the night and start a chase by being seen by a howler. This will cause virals to run to the player's location, but players will need to be in a reasonably safe spot to avoid being overrun. High-up places like abandoned watchtowers or small rooftops are great for being safe, but players will have to bring many UV lights to loot the infected bodies as more come to attack.
Dying Light 2's infected trophies are essential for players looking for their equipment to remain useful at higher levels. Since the cost of upgrades is so great, these farming methods should ease the pain of going out and getting lucky to find certain trophies. Players should try to upgrade their lockpicks and medicine first as they level up. Stronger/quicker heals are also very useful for players with upgraded health bars, while upgraded lockpicks can force open even the most difficult chests.
Simply running around and jumping over every possible obstacle is by no means a reliable way of actively farming for Parkour XP. However, using special Parkour abilities over large gaps seems to reward tons of experience points, and this can be abused to great effect.
Players can roam Villedor at night in search of combat encounters to earn some easy Combat XP. Noteworthy infected will be highlighted with a blue icon above their heads, and defeating them will reward more XP than usual.
Alternatively, players can kick a Screamer again to force Volatiles to spawn. They sometimes appear from vents on rooftops, and they can be spawn camped for easy XP. The same goes for normal infected runners.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human offers a massive open-world playground free for you to explore. However, walking (or parkouring) through this post-apocalyptic world is no easy feat. There are infected and enemy factions waiting to take you down. Exploring at Night in Dying light 2: Stay Human is even trickier as prowlers alert nearby infected and start a chase, which then turns into a fight or flight nail bitting sequence with hordes of undead.
