Stereographic Suite - create stunning 3D optical illusions!
IndaSoftware Stereographic Suite is a software package designed to help users easily and quickly create high-quality stereograms. Grounded in sophisticated software architecture, the suite consists of three complementary programs.
Stereogram Generator generates stereograms from depth maps and textures. You simply specify a depth map and a texture image, click the Generate button and the stereogram is created! Other features include four tiling algorithms, support for mapped texture stereograms, flexible settings and sophisticated echo ghosting reduction. You can also import depth maps and tiling textures created in other programs.
You can use Texture Maker to create textures that hide the hidden images. Texture Maker creates highly attractive and detailed textures (that can be used for making stereograms or for other uses). The program ensures and preserves the integrity of the image. Thus, it is possible to achieve visually continuous high-quality stereographic images using textures created in Texture Maker. With the help of Texture Maker you can create unique patterns using procedural algorithms, transform non-seamless textures into seamless tiling textures, and much more.
Modeler creates three-dimensional scenes and renders them into depth maps and color maps. A set of simple and complex shapes and objects can be easily added and manipulated on the program's three-dimensional digital canvas. This program is an easy-to-use modeler that allows the creation of high-quality depth maps for use with stereograms. Models created in many other 3D modeling programs can also be imported and manipulated.

The present booklet is devoted to proofs of the aforesaid properties of the stereographic projection and to the presentation of some of its applications. The booklet consists of eight sections dealing with different properties of projections. ...The booklet is aimed to be used in the senior grades of the high schools and by the first- and second-year students.

In Sec. 2 we establish the connection between the stereographic projection and a remarkable transformation of a plane onto itself in which the circles are also transformed into
circles or straight lines and the angles between the lines are transformed into the angles equal to them - this transformation is called the inversion with respect to a circle; in the same
section we establish the relation of the stereographic projection to the similar transformation of space - the inversion with respect to a sphere.

Sec. 4 establishes the relation between the stereographic projection and the complex numbers: when the projection plane is considered to be a plane of a complex variable, mapping of complex numbers by the points on the sphere is realized by means
of a stereographic projection. This mapping is frequently utilized in the theory of functions of complex variables since the so-called point at infinity of the plane of the complex variable, which cannot be mapped on the plane itself, is given on the sphere by the very projection centre. The same section discusses the so-called spherical metric on a plane when the distance between two points of the plane is assumed equal to a spherical distance between the corresponding points on the sphere; this distance is expressed in the simplest form by means of complex numbers.

In Sec. 5 we show how the rotations of the sphere are mapped by the plane transformations in the stereographic projection; these transformations are also expressed most simply by means of complex numbers.

Sec. 8 presents the definition of the Lobachevskian plane, demonstrates how a peculiar
stereographic projection can yield a projection of the Lobachevskian plane onto an ordinary plane so that the circles and some other curves on the Lobachevskian plane are mapped as circles or straight lines while the angles between the lines of the Lobachevskian plane are mapped as the angles equal to them.

A Coronagraph is an instrument which studies the Sun's outer atmosphere, the corona. From Earth the corona is most easily seen during a total solar eclipse. It is also possible to cover the bright disk of the Sunwith a disk to create a sort of mini-eclipse and allows us to see the Sun's fainter outer atmosphere. Ifwe do this from space we do not have to worry about the bright blue sky which makes this harder to dofrom Eath's surface.

Each STEREO spacecraft has two coronagraphs which study the Sun fromspace. These two coronagraphs, which are part of STEREO's SECCHI suiteof imagers, have different fields of view, using different sized occulting disks to allow us to see the faint corona at different distances from the Sun's surface.

The image is from STEREO SECCHI's Cor2 coronagraph on the Ahead spacecraft. The white circle shows the size and location of the Sun's surface. The color isn't "real". We color code the images so we cantell them apart quickly.

The MCF has purchased the crystalmaker software suite for the GT community. This software suite can model and simulate diffraction data, simulate diffraction patterns, and more. OIT will be updating the software codes for download, but you can also reach out to David Tavakoli (atavakoli6 @ gatech.edu) using a GT email address.

Stereographic Suite is an exciting new software package designed to help the user easily and quickly create high-quality stereograms. Being based on sophisticated software architecture, the suite consists of three complementary programs.

This toolbox is for importing, analyzing, and displaying Antarctica-related data. AMT is designed to provide a standard framework to allow easy pairing of multiple different types of data sets (surface elevation, ice velocity, grounding line, etc). For a quick overview, check the Examples tab on this page and click "AMT Getting Started". To find data-specific plugins for this toolbox, search the File Exchange site for "AMT".

Note to users: AMT was originally written to be used with Matlab's Mapping Toolbox. However, Matlab's Mapping Toolbox is sometimes inefficient and difficult to work with. And depending on Matlab's Mapping Toolbox makes it harder to share codes. So I've been moving more toward plotting mostly in polar stereographic meters. There is a suite of functions ending in "ps" that make this easy.

Rewrote the "AMT Getting Started" page and added the new circlesps function. Also, in previous versions plotps, pcolorps, etc all ended with "axis equal", but that has now been changed to setting aspect ratio via daspect.

V3: Addition of shadem function, which creates shaded relief (hillshade) images. Addition of find2drange function, which plugin functions will use to clip data to a region of interest. Improved documentation for scarlabel and scarclick functions.

SnowEx Campaign data is publicly available through the NASA DAAC at the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) in Boulder, Colorado. Data are available to anyone at no cost, as is the case with all NASA data. Available data products are searchable by campaign year. You can also browse recently published data by visiting The Drift, a product from NSIDC to share news and tips with data users.

The NASA Airborne Snow Observatory (ASO) data will be archived and distributed by NSIDC DAAC. The data, derived from a coupled imaging spectrometer and lidar system will include snow depth, snow water equivalent (SWE), and albedo collected during airborne campaigns in the western United States and beyond.

A suite of MODerate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) snow and sea ice products, developed at NASA / GSFC, are available through the National Snow and Ice Data Center. The suite of products consists of global daily, 8-day maximum and monthly snow cover at 500-m and 0.5-km spatial resolution; daily cloud-gap-filled snow cover; daily snow albedo at 500-m resolution; and daily sea ice extent and ice-surface temperature (IST). Nearly-identical product suites are available both from the Terra and Aqua satellites in HDF-EOS format.

A special Terra MODIS daily product of the Greenland Ice Sheet is also available. This product consists of layers of ice-surface temperature, albedo and water vapor for the Greenland Ice Sheet (2000 - 2016) at a spatial resolution of 0.78 km, on a polar stereographic grid in NetCDF format.

The SNOwpackTELemetryNetwork (SNOTEL), which is an automated system of snowpack and related climate sensors operated by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) of the United States Department of Agriculture in the Western United States, collects snow data that include snow water equivalent, accumulated precipitation, and air temperature. In addition, some sites include a measure of snow depth, soil moisture and temperature, wind speed, solar radiation, humidity, and atmospheric pressure. These data are used to forecast yearly water supplies, predict floods, and for general climate research. SNOTEL snow course data and products are available on this site.
