Trying to find recipes for Dog food can leave us feeling a little
overwhelmed. There are so many homemade Dog foods that we could choose
from it is difficult to know both what will be the healthiest and what
will be the best for our specific Dog.
There are a few basic ingredients that we can use but we need to know
how to make the Dog food recipes appetizing to our Pets. There is no
doubt that whatever homemade Dog food recipe we prepare our Dogs will
be pleased to have a change of diet. Having the same food day in and
day out must get monotonous even to the most food obsessed of Dogs.
All Dogs love to have a bit of variety and if you make a Dog food
recipe that includes some meat, raw or cooked then your Dog will thank
you for it.
One of the best ways to make homemade Dog food always appetizing is to
always include a good strong stock or sauce. This can be accomplished
in the following manner.
Get as many meaty pieces of bone that you can, add to this any fish
parts, yes heads as well, that your local Butcher or Fishmonger will
supply and boil them in a large pan of water for an hour. You can then
strain this stock and it will be a very tasty and nutritious basis for
a very healthy homemade Dog food recipe. I would be very surprised if
any Dog turned their nose up at this. Especially with the addition of
meat, some brown rice and vegetables.
It is always a good idea to add some yogurt and some healthy oils to
your Dogs meal if you are feeding home cooked meals. You need to get
the balance of proteins and carbohydrates fairly correct but they also
need extra vitamins and minerals and the good bacteria that can be
found in yogurt. Never forget that Dogs need a balanced diet and that
it is your responsibility if you are feeding at home.
Healthy homemade Dog treats such as home prepared meals are certainly
a favorite of many Dogs and more owners are deciding to make at least
a few meals at home for their Dogs. It does not have to be an all or
nothing approach. A few mastered recipes for Dog food can go a long
way to giving some variety to your Dogs diet and making you feel
better about the food they eat.
