Dog Village Community Training – July 7, 7pm
Hi everyone,
Dog Village Community Training begins Wednesday, July 7th. We will
meet at Nancy’s house at 7pm unless you live outside of the community
here at Four Seasons. If you are coming from outside this community,
meet at my house at 6:45pm. The directions are below.
Agenda:
Talk about;
• Introductions of dogs and their families
• A dog is a dog (or why we put lids on trash cans) – Some basic dog
psychology
• Basic dog tools – things you really need
This week’s training;
• Basic sit and down
• Basic walking on a leash
• Basic whistle training (some of you have already started this in
your homes)
Things to bring
• One dog per person (you may bring two dogs as long as there is one
person to work with each dog)
• Have dogs on a 5 or 6 foot leash (no retractable leashes please)
• Highly valued treats such as cooked chicken (whatever your dog
prizes the most)
• A folding chair for you to sit in
• Bottled water for you
• Pooh bags for your dog(s)
You will have a more positive training experience if your dog is a
little hungry when you arrive and if you walk your dog prior to
training.
This is a “living” agenda. We are in no hurry. We will do what feels
comfortable and see how this first class goes. It will not take long
to develop our own rhythm.
Directions to my house;
Get to Interstate 5 going towards the Sacramento Airport. Take ramp
right to Del Paso Blvd. Turn left and drive for approximately 1 mile
to Hovnanian Blvd. Turn left. Drive to the Red Sea Lane (second gate)
on your right. Stop at the gate and call 928-1630. This is my phone
number at home. I will buzz you in. Drive to Pozzallo Lane, go left.
I am the third house on the left. Call me if you have any problems…
