It is a dog for a start, not a person! The nutritional requirements
vary from humans to dogs as do the metabolisms vary too.
I always wonder why do pet owners insist on feeding their dogs with
human food when there are specifically designed meant to cater their
body requirements.
Anyway, if you insist allow me to tell you why you should not feed
your dog the same food that you eat.
You will make your dog sick; you might poison and even kill your dog!
A few examples will illustrate this absolute claim to you.
The most common mistake: give the meat, fish or poultry bones to the
dog! It will be delicious for your pet's palate certainly, but could
obstruct or wound the digestive system, cause internal bleeding and
even death.
You don't like liver but your dog loves it...did you know that you
could hurt his bones and muscles from excessive vitamin A?
Dairy products as milk or cheese could make a delicious breakfast for
your dog...unfortunately having not enough lactase the dog may end up
with an upsetting diarrhea.
So you are thinking of sharing a tasty meal with your dog deliciously
flavoured with onions and garlic? You probably ignore that the
sulfoxides and disulfides contained on them can hurt the red blood
cells and cause anemia to you pet.
Adding salt to your dog's meals? Large amounts can produce electrolyte
imbalances to your best friend.
Something sweet to please or reward your canine? Diabetes, obesity,
dental problem and diseases to the digestive system or your dog can be
the final prize.
Maybe you think that receiving some fatty foods will add calories to
your dog, and that is true, but on the other side you may be risking
to give your pet a pancreatitis.
And do not think of sharing an alcoholic drink with your dog unless
you want to lead your dog to an alcoholic comma, please!
