According to a research study commissioned by Barna, fewer than 25% of Americans had a spiritual conversation in the past year. And only 13% of practicing Christians reported talking about their faith more than once per week.

But we also need introverts. We need their gentle disposition, thoughtful intellect, and quiet passions. We need them to show us how to find God in the stillness, listen instead of talk and respond instead of react.

Introverts Can Be Christians Too: Jesus knew his boundaries. Yes, he went to dinner parties and spoke to large crowds, but he also spent time alone. And some of his best conversations happened when he was talking to just one other person.

Your article is helping a lot though. The title was the bait for me to read on because, as I have decided to explore this relationship with Jesus, I wanted to share this decision with my partner and I noticed how hard it was for me to find the right way to let him now about this. I actually felt embarrassed, and still do to some extent, about telling anyone about this. It a very private relationship, a new and fragile one and I do not want to share about it too much but I feel bad for feeling embarrassed, that is something I will seek an answer. Well, most likely because I know that so many people feel adverse to all this just as I was feeling. I like the idea of being a beacon of light for others who may seek his gospel without knowing it, just as I was I guess. My partner was not surprise, he said he totally understands and yet he never talked about having a relationship with Jesus, go figure.

Every week I gathered some students for a short time of exploring what the Bible says about sharing our faith. After that we spent an hour on campus initiating conversations with whomever would talk to us that day. We were understandably nervous about starting spiritual conversations with strangers.

They were like walking, talking USB sticks looking for an unsuspecting person they could plug into before downloading their gospel presentation. Then they would unplug and scramble before things got too relational.

He started talking about his spiritual beliefs. He had a Christian background but described himself now as an agnostic with a leaning toward Buddhist ideas. This is common where I live, as more and more people explore meditation, yoga and mindfulness.

"With his unique blend of humour, wit, and incisive analysis, Andy helps us navigate the opportunities and pitfalls of sharing faith today. This accessible book is a must-read for all Christians who want to talk about Jesus with greater confidence and winsomeness."

"We all want to live in such a way as believers that our words and our lives match so that our walk is the same as our talk. But the subject where we see the greatest gap between what Christians say is vital and how their lives reflect that is evangelism. That's why Andy Bannister's book is so refreshing. His humor is infectious, but don't let it fool you. There is a wealth of wisdom and insight in these pages, with some of the most honest, practical, and helpful tools I've seen in a book on evangelism. Read it and laugh at Andy's wit, then put his teaching into practice. The Good News in Jesus is too good not to tell, and Andy will help you."

"Having worked with Andy Bannister on various evangelistic events for years, I can confidently say that he knows how to talk about Jesus without looking like an idiot. In this book, he teaches the rest of us how to do the same. Besides being highly entertaining, this book is an accessible treasure trove of real-world insight and practical tips. If you love Jesus and want to share that love naturally and effectively with others, this is a must-read and reread!"

"In my experience, telling other people about Jesus is one of the greatest causes of anxiety for the average Christian. But fear not, help is at hand. Delivered with Andy's inimitable sense of humour, this book is a brilliant guide to sharing your faith naturally and confidently. It won't magically turn you into a super evangelist (as Andy explains, they don't really exist in real life), but it will help you to face your fears, start conversations, and simply talk to people about Jesus . . . without looking like an idiot."

If one person asks a question aloud, then usually there are a lot more people wondering the same but without a chance to ask! Hear are my answers to some great questions a student at a theological college asked me about talking with Catholics about Jesus.

The Catholic Charismatic Renewal movement has been in Australia since the 1960s, and through this movement there has been much more cross-fertilization of ideas between charismatic Catholics and Protestants. I think that because of this you are more likely to find converted Roman Catholics who are charismatic. When I was involved in it in the Catholic Church, people did things like talking in tongues, having words of prophecy, and many other emotional experiences.

ANNOUNCEMENT: People will talk about you, behind your back and even to your face. This is a reality that once you accept it, you will be able to get further along in your spiritual walk.

if the post is about talking directly to Jesus. One example that was not mentioned was nearly three years of talking to Jesus with the disciples.
I was re-reading about Job and the conversation with Satan because the early questions that was asked in our lesson study was, where is Uz? If you read about the calamities that start with Job, three things about the first two or three were brought on by the Sabeans, people from Ethiopia and the Chaldeans from Ur plus a consuming fire from God above. I determined where Abraham was from. Ur of the Chaldees near the gulf of Arabia. So I reasoned that Job must have been in some proximity to this area. It just happened to be that my neighbor knocked on the door and I told him what I had been researching and the reason, was the account in Job, and the conversation with God and Satan. He was impressed with what I was studying and thought he might be interested in other Biblical subjects. I have been praying for my neighbor and his wife for some time, that if God has anything for me to do or shed some needed light, I want to be ready. I thought this might be time for seed. I am blessed to be their neighbor. Really nice people. They watch when I leave for Sabbath School and wave.

I once was lost in sin but Jesus took me in
And then a little light from heaven filled my soul
It bathed my heart in love and wrote my name above
And just a little talk with Jesus made me whole

Sometimes my path seems drear without a ray of cheer
And then a cloud of doubt may hide the light of day
The mists of sin may rise and hide the starry skies
But just a little talk with Jesus clears the way

I may have doubts and fears my eyes be filled with tears
But Jesus is a friend who watches day and night
I go to Him in prayer He knows my every care
And just a little talk with Jesus makes it right

Answer: Matthew 13:55 and Mark 6:3 name four men called Jesus' brethren: James, Joses (short for Joseph Jr.), Simon, and Judas called Jude. Verse 56 mentions that Jesus had sisters. The sisters are not named, but since the word is plural there were at least two of them. John 7:5 tells us his brothers didn't believe in Jesus, and all three synoptic gospels tell of a time when his mother and brothers came to speak with Jesus. The implication is that they came to take him home, possibly to rethink his ministry because he was offending the Jewish leaders. That may be why Jesus didn't go out to talk with them immediately.

And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may look for a remission of their sins. . . .

I think we ought to have hope; I think we ought to have rejoicing. We can talk about the principles of salvation and say how many there are and how people have to meet these standards. And it may thereby seem hard and difficult and beyond the capacity of mortals so to obtain. But we need not take that approach. We ought to realize that we have the same appetites and passions that all of the saints and righteous people had in the dispensations that have gone before. They were no different than we are. They overcame the flesh. They gained the knowledge of God. They understood about Christ and salvation. They had the revelations of the Holy Spirit to their souls certifying of the divine sonship and of the prophetic ministry of whatever prophets ministered among them. And as a consequence they worked out their salvation.

While it glorifies God that LANY speaks openly and honestly about shortcomings, accurately describing their eternal destiny, their incorrect views on salvation lead their audience down the wrong path, taking some of it away. However, it also glorifies God that LANY talks with Him.

This book has been a great help too me in that has given me a great insight into how to talk to my friends, and new acquaintances, about the wonderful messages Jesus has for us all.
I highly recommend this book to everyone wishing to talk to others about their love of Jesus, and His love of us all.

Sam has done a great job by explaining the joy of living for Jesus in a post Christian era. The book is easy to read without being simplistic. It exegetes our culture, some wrong Christian perspectives and puts forward helpful biblical principles. After reading "How to talk about Jesus" I was less anxious about living as a Christian in a post Christian society and challenged to live for Jesus. I would thoroughly recommend this book.
