Well 5 years is a bit much especially given that the teaser for 2.2 came out almost a full year ago... The least they could do is the bare minimum to have it function on 2.1 (a 2.1.1 sort of thing) until they can get 2.2 to function properly.
As of now, geometry dash does not work on devices that are using ios 15 that have the a11 bionic chip or older. This means that you need to either not update to ios 15, downgrade from ios 15 (not recommended), get a new device or wait for the next update. The oldest phone that can run geometry dash on ios 15 is the iphone Xr and Xs. Do not try to contact the developer (robtop) as he never answers his emails. (also, robtop doesnt have a copy of the original 2.11 update so he cant release a bugfix until the next actual update, the only way to play it is to downgrade ios version or play on a different device)
*also if it wasnt clear, anything newer than the iphone Xs or Xr will work on ios 15, i forgot about ipads but im pretty sure its ipad 9 or newer. Im REALLY hoping that this clears things up with people so they dont keep getting confused with why it sometimes works and sometimes doesnt.
