I know that you can make an actor look at you, but I would like to have a character BP inherit a billboard flipbook. The reason why I want this is because I wanted to make a game sort of like Doom and Shadow Warrior. The 2.5D method of art. I have been looking around for any news for an update that would support this idea, but so far nothing. I am hoping the people at epic or the unreal devs would see this post and take my request into consideration.

The other thing I would like to request is adding some sort of flipbook within UMG, so I can have sprite animations of the character perspective of fists punching and gun shooting. If there is another way to do this, then please tell me.
Thank you for your time.

Having difficulty getting my flipbooks to be transparent in the black areas of my Texture Map.
I understand the distinction between Opacity and Transparency and also how to create a masked material but with Flipbooks you have to use a Texture Object as input instead of Texture Sampler.

Hi there, I am trying to create a stylized rain splash effect by creating a material function that I can place into the materials I want. I want to be able to use an animated flipbook texture but tiled across assets using world space. I tried linking up the flipbook and world aligned texture nodes but world aligned node requires a texture object instead of a vector 3, I was wondering if there was a way around this so I can achieve the effect I want or perhaps a different way of doing things?

Currently I have this setup which uses world position as an input for the flipbook UVs which aligns to the environment correctly and animates the texture, the problem is that the entirety of the flipbook texture is projected across the world rather than one specific frame. I have tried some different arrangements to try and get the UVs to work together but nothing seems to take the flipbook UVs into account.

Thanks Luos, I forgot to come back to this. I ended up using a different approach in the end using flipbook rain drop particles conforming to a Z axis and just placed them around the level. It gave me a much better looking result in the end.

Hi guys, i have looped flipbook animation for idle, run and jump, but i need add another animation for first step( from idle to run), so i need some how to check if first step animation flipbook play to end and then start run animation flipbook, so problem in checking is first step animation flipbook played to end or not

If OnFinishedPlaying event is not firing, then its flipbook is not finishing. You need to make sure flipbook is set to not loop right before you want OnFinishedPlaying event to fire, as shown in images in this post:

my system based on epic examples, in first time all work super easy and simple but problems start when i want to add first step flipbook animation(from idle to run). For now i create temp solution for first step(with timeline), but if in future i want add animation from run to jump or idle to jump(this animation must play only once) so i have a problem in future.

Hello guys,
I wrote a reply this night to the "Flipbook extension" post (Extension category). I am testing the flipbook.aia example, just changing the original images with mine. But if I change any image it is not visualized anymore, I see just an empty image. So, I think I did not understand how to use the extension.
Has anyone a little example that works with custom images? Just to know if it works and how should be used the extension. In the example there is a couple of html files containing references to some images, have I to modify also these files? Seems to me that the flip is done using some JavaScript inside those files. Any help will be appreciated.

I still have and I do not understand why... I supposed to have problems with the path, so I made this test modifying a little bit the flipbook.aia, this is the init procedure: Cattura-101277735 54.7 KB
and this the other relevant procedure:

OK, I can live with this problem at the moment. The application is a speaking flipbook, it will have more than 50 pages, most of them with some text and a recording read from an actress, some others (credits and so on) may have a text that will be read by the TextToSpeech component so I upload a CSV file specificating the image of the page, the mp3 file to play and/or the text to read. In this case it is not so important to see the images during debugging and testing, it is more important to have images and voice synchronized, stopped and restarted turning the pages and so on. And find a better way to load the images together instead of one by one.

I have for sometime used a Flipbook to display PDF documents online. The flipbooks look out of focus and the colors seem to be fading or washed out, unlike the original PDF file. The PDF looks much better, far sharper and the colors are just as bright as the original I created using Adobe's InDesign. The service I have used to make the conversion seems to have used Flash in the past but claims to be using HTML5 now. Despite this change I haven't noticed any significant improvement in the quality of the flipbook.

Question:

Is there an app or a way to display a PDF online so that the viewing experience is similar to that of viewing a flipbook? By similar I mean that I can set the document to be viewed as a spread with two pages displayed at a time but with both covers displayed as single pages. I would also like to have the ability to limit viewers to reading and not grant permission to copy the document. In case this makes any difference the document I have is now the single document in a subdomain so when viewers type that web address they already land on my flipbook document (and would hopefully equally land or arrive at the PDF version, if it is possible to do it).

I understand your point and perhaps my question wasn't clear enough. The document can be and should be a PDF. However, my goal is to have it read and/or viewed with the aid of an app or some web-based technology that would allow the document to be displayed and read without the option to copy or download it. In case it can be flipped in a way similar to a flipbook, it's even better. However, this is an absolute necessity. All I want is for readers to land on the webpage and immediately have the PDF opened for them to read it.

I'm somewhat in the same boat. I had read somewhere that I could turn my InDesign 'books' into pdf flipbooks in Acrobat. But apparently not! I just want to share that for the past few years I've been uploading my pdf booklets to a site that presents them as beautiful flip books that cannot be copied or downloaded. They can be viewed full-screen and I can log on to see my viewing stats, upload changes, etc. The site is issuu.com. It's a 'magazine' format, suitable for me, and free to use if you're just uploading and not selling, etc. Going forward, I want to be able to embed a pdf link on my website that will take someone to the flipbooks, slideshows, etc. that I create in InDesign and LightRoom (keeping everything in CC). I'm going to take a look at 'Adobe PDF Embed API' that is suggested below. Thanks for listening ... I'm now following this thread.

As I said, Webflow already is providing a HTML document. The only elements you need to add to a page would be the added before the body close area, your updated CSS link tags in the head area, the flipbook.min.js in the before body close area, then the script added as the last element in the before body close area.

Note: When upgrading to the PRO version of DearFlip 3D flipbook WordPress plugin, make sure you deactivate the lite version. Your flip book created with the lite version will stay in the database and work seamlessly. If you are using a cache plugin, we recommend clearing cache if any issues arise.

You can set the opening page of a flipbook with shortcode:
[dflip id="123" data-page=5]
This will create your PDF flipbook or image flipbook to open at page 5 when it starts.

We provide the most realistic flipbook on the market. No one of your customers will stay indifferent. With our plugin your customers will receive unforgettable experience from reading your magazines!
