Dear all,
Time has come for You Get a Car [Everybody Gets a Car] to close its doors at Tate Liverpool x RIBA North! The exhibition is still open until Wednesday 10 July if you want to see it again (or see it for the first time!).
As promised, RESOLVE Collective will be giving away all the material used to build the exhibition, as well as further material from the now closed Tate Liverpool building. After two very successful giveaways at Crosby Library in Waterloo, and at the Parish Centre in Anfield, please join us for two last giveaway events in Toxteth this week and next, where you will be able to take everything for free.
First, the RESOLVE x GRANBY STREET MARKET GIVEAWAY this Saturday 6 July at Granby Street Market
Find RESOLVE at the Granby Workshop building on Granby Street from 10 am until 2pm
Material being given includes: timber, mdf boards, chairs, metal shelves and wooden shelves
Then, the FINAL GIVEAWAY will be on Saturday 13 July from 10am until 2pm at the L8 African and Caribbean Centre
Material being given includes: tables, chairs, benches, lots of DIY material (timber, mdf boards, valchromat boards, metal grids…), plenty of lockers beautifully adorned with RESOLVE’s stickers (see image attached), some more bits and bobs
Free food, tea and coffee will be served on the day.
A mindfulness corner with arts and craft activities organised by Soul Mumma will welcome people of all ages .
For some context:
While Tate Liverpool undergoes a major refurbishment, RESOLVE Collective are redistributing some of the materials from the now-closed gallery to save them from going to landfill.
These giveaways are part of their project You Get a Car [Everybody Gets a Car] at Tate Liverpool + RIBA North which explores redistribution of resources across the creative community focused ecologies of Liverpool.
EVERYTHING IS FREE AND EVERYTHING MUST GO. Material will be given on a first come first served basis. Please plan adequate transportation for the items collected.
