Laser Maintenance Team

Hi Folks,

We are looking to expand the laser maintenance team with more DoES members, as with recent changes in member activity, we haven't got an ideal level of cover at the moment.

So for anyone who is interested in finding out how the laser cutters in DoES work and how to maintain them, please feel free to reply to this message and we can agree a future date to meet up and get started.

Training will be given and you don't have to be fantastically technical to handle some of the tasks that the current laser maintenance team cover. It might also be useful for some regular laser users, so you can understand lens and mirror cleaning and how to focus the lasers.

Hi Folks,

Time to move this Team forwards, I've let this slip for far too long.

This kind of training is obviously hands on and we need to fit this in when the lasers are not likely to be heavily used. This leads to it being evenings and weekends as the best time for this training, also avoiding Maker Nights and Maker Days if possible.

So what's your preferences? It looks like Saturday 18th July might be a good weekend date for a stake in the ground, say starting at 10am. Also most Monday and Tuesday evenings don't have events that clash with laser usage, so these might fit as well.

I'm looking at groups of 1-3 people ideally, as the laser room is quite full.

So let me know what you think.
