A new battery for German Medion (ALDI?) laptop has arrived and fits nicely.
New SSD is ready to be fitted to replace HDD when tools are available to open laptop and swap them over.
Does DoES [sic] have the means to dispose of old battery and HDD appropriately?
Windows began to start on new battery (Windows 8?) but failed to complete. Understand the suggestion of installing Linux on new SSD and have suitable links.
