Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of SEND Crisis Liverpool. We are joining the SEND Reform England National March on Saturday, May 9th, at Williamson Square, and we need your help to make our voices heard.
The Situation
The Government’s new White Paper, "Every Child Achieving and Thriving," threatens to weaken the legal rights of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Proposed changes could replace legally binding EHCPs with "Individual Support Plans" that lack guaranteed delivery, while also stripping the SEND Tribunal of its power to name specific schools.
The public consultation closes May 18, 2026. We need a massive turnout to show our opposition before these changes become law.
How You Can Help
We are looking for both physical presence and materials to help us prepare.
1. Material Donations for Placards:
We are looking for the following to help families create signs:
• Sizes: Large (30"x40"), Medium-Large (24"x36"), and Medium (18"x24").
• Materials: Correx/foamboard, double-walled cardboard, and wooden battens/dowels for handles.
2. Your Attendance:
Join us at Williamson Square on May 9th ([11.30-1.30pm]) to stand with Merseyside families.

I'll be at DoES this evening and over the weekend thank your time and for your support in advance.
We thank you for your support!

Ditto on the cardboard.
And it wouldn't be the first time the events space had been used for that sort of thing, sounds like a great idea (not that I've got any time to help out with it atm)
Cheers,
Adrian.

Hi there - I have some large form heavy card sheets and black markers I bought in for Palestine Action protest. I can drop these off if useful.
For what it is worth, I have also had success with printing vinyl banners using VistaPrint. I took this "Plasticine Action" banner around London when protesting against the Israeli genocide. You probably have time to get something like this printed up.
