Hi all,
Since we launched our first Hokusai Great Wave printing experience onto an unsuspecting (but very enthusiastic) public at Liverpool MakeFest in July, I've been to Japan to get some much needed training in the art of woodblock printing and how to get Prussian blue ink out of your clothes.
I've also been up to DoES to laser-carve a couple of updated blocks which should make the printing a little easier. As things progress, we'll start printing in multiple colours and then eventually produce full sized woodblocks from material I brought back with me.
We're due to run a few taster sessions at
Cass Art in School Lane (
map), the first being this coming Sunday (15 September) from 10am-4pm, the second on Sat 5 Oct.
It would be great to see you there and also if you could share any of the posts.
Thanks,
Andy
