Different kerning when using documents4j converter vs word “save as”

I'm using documents4j to convert from word to pdf (pdfa, embedding fonts), the letter spacing is different, the gaps between the letters/words are not as even when i use the converter vs the "save as" pdf/pdfa in word.

I'm trying both options in the same server, also tried it in different computers and this is the main difference. 

The font i'm using is Roboto Condensed.

documents4j uses the "export to" functionaltiy, did you compare it to this manner of creating a pdf?

I'm using word 2010 and it has only "Save as", Export to is only in word 2013 and above.

I'll try to test in in word 2013 or above.

I tried the "Export to" - same result as "Save as" - the kerning is still different from the generated file in documents4j converter.

The spacing is perfect in "Export to" and "Save as".
