It's probably appropriate to celebrate the Documentarian's roots on this, the holiest of Nature Documentary days...Although I suspect we are all a touch more informed then this brief bio ;)

Sir David Frederick Attenborough was born 8 May 1926 in London, England. He is a broadcaster and naturalist. His career as the respected face and voice of natural history programs has endured for more than 50 years. He is best known for writing and presenting the nine "Life" series, in conjunction with the BBC Natural History Unit, which collectively form a comprehensive survey of all life on the planet. He is also a former senior manager at the BBC, having served as controller of BBC Two and director of programming for BBC Television in the 1960s and 1970s.
He is the younger brother of director, producer and actor Richard Attenborough.

Attenborough is known foremost for writing and presenting the nine Life series,
Life on Earth (1979), The Living Planet (1984), The Trials of Life (1990), Life in the Freezer (1993), The Private Life of Plants (1995), The Life of Birds (1998), The Life of Mammals (2002), Life in the Undergrowth (2005) and Life in Cold Blood (2008).
