Hey Jitendra,

To use DocPad Skeletons you need to have git installed. You can download the installer from the Git website here: http://git-scm.com/download

Be aware, when installing you want to select the option that makes the git executable available to the windows command line.

For a bit of background, our recommended installation instructions for node and git for the different platforms are available here:
and linked to from the "Install Node.js" step on the DocPad readme - perhaps we should rename this to be more clear that other dependencies are necessary too.

Let me know if installing git works or not :)

Thanks Benjamin,

I have installed GIT in my windows and selected this option http://bit.ly/Q97Mk5  while installing.

and run the command docpad run again. and installation went smooth except one error (http://i.imgur.com/ljk74.png)

though i'm seeing this page http://i.imgur.com/RFVH7.png and it seems ok.

I currently use Sublime Text 2 + Compass.app (http://compass.handlino.com/) don't know yet what actually Docpad is :) but will read more about it to what how it can be useful for me.

Sweet, you're all good to go then :)

The error you got is not anything to worry about, just to say that one of the install methods for one of the dependencies failed - however, it would have moved on to a install method that does work on your system, as otherwise it the error would have been fatal (in regards to the program that is ;)). Generally, unless something crashes docpad (which rarely happens), it isn't anything to worry about :) But thanks for letting me know, I'll be sure to document this a bit more.

Sure, so DocPad can either be used as a replacement for compass.app, or as a complete way to write your website. Nearly everyone uses it as the latter, as DocPad also offers layouts, partials, and meta data as well as the standard pre-processor support. You can even accomplish things like paging, and search, and even form submission etc with DocPad too if you wanted to go that far!

So glad that all helped, and be sure to remember we're always here to help :)
