Hi,
I found that zeitgeist daemon was constantly causing the CPU load to go to 90-100% on my laptop. Recently I got totally fed up with it and I uninstalled the whole zeitgeist thing.
Unfortunately doing that caused Dockmanager to be uninstalled as well.
I was quite puzzled: I thought that at most I wouldnt be able to run the zeitgeist helpers, but it turns out (at least as I understand it) that since Dockmanager comes with some helpers preinstalled, it's all or nothing. So apparently I cannot have Dockmanager without Zeitgeist, which means again random and longlasting spikes in CPU loads.
I now wonder, wouldnt it be more logical to have Dockmanager as an additional component to make the helpers work with Docky, and then everyone decides freely what helpers s/he installs as separate components?

Cheers
Renato

Probably.

Though note that we deprecated DockManager anyway, so it will never have another release.  Future docks will now use libunity instead.
