Despite federal regulatory delays, 2026 has seen a surge in state-level support for veterans seeking psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT). With Utah Governor Spencer Cox recently signing HB 390, the Huntsman Mental Health Institute is now authorized to lead clinical trials specifically for veterans with treatment-resistant PTSD. These state-funded initiatives, alongside ongoing Department of Defense (DoD) studies, are providing critical real-world evidence on the durability of MDMA-AT, offering a vital alternative for the nearly 44 veterans lost to suicide daily.
