This has been long delayed by the merger of my law office (whose purpose was to put more time in my hands for this program, but . . . )

There is a functional copy that you can download at http://dochawkbk.com/dhbk.150216e.zip.  When you unpack the zip and run the program, it asks for a file to read preferences from--choose the dagget.dhbk.prefs file in the dialog it opens.

You will need to email me with the IP that you will be connecting from, as I have to grant access in the server.

Aside from dragging itself to the applications folder, it sets itself up from an included file.  It uses one of my machines in Las Vegas as the server host.

This one will use my machine as a server, and attempts to set itself up.  It will create a Library/Preferences/dhbk and bk_clients in your home directory.

It uses the machine on my desk as a server (over an unsecure connection at the moment; this should be solvable in a few days.

The interface is still clunky; what pulldown menus there are are dicey.

I have delusions that you don't need to know more than:
1) "Debts & Assets" is still abbreviated "dna".  To get at them, use the openDna button.
2) You can have as many output screens as you want open at the same time.  If you use the zoom, they might get clunky.  If you change an item in an output screen, it changes everywhere.  Most output screens don't correctly repaginate at the moment; if you make a change that would affect pagination, the displayed page only changes layout in that window (e.g., make the address or description longer).
3) There is no "save" function.  By default, it updates the database once you go 15 seconds without typing.  This will also bring in the changes from anyone else who has modified the file (there is no limit on the number of simultaneous users working on the same client)
4) The sofa is entered by opening it as output and entering data; it tries to stay on the same question when you add things.  I still haven't thought of a more rational way to do this . . .At the moment, if you were to make a question larger than one page, Bad Things (tm) would happen.

Known warts:
* there is an error message when generating a pdf from the full petition, but the pdf still works.  It seems to come from the plan, which isn't being generated.
* It only has NV and MO exemptions at the moment.
* The new means test will be another few days (boring drudgework)
* Doesn't file electronically
* It doesn't properly seem to generate local files (it has the option to do this with a right-click on the "create debtor" button.  Should be a fix click later.  Being able to save locally instead of remotely is really just an artifact of dumping backup files locally)
* if the blue numbers in the lower left of the first page of debtor info stop counting, something has gone wrong.  I haven't seen this in a while, but the "restart sync" button might fix it.  Once this counter hits 15000 ms, it synchronizes (whether displayed or not)
Nothing you can do should be able to change the attorney name or the first names of the debtors.  (Now that I think of it, I'm  not sure that you can go back from married to joint . . .) (Hmm, and it doesn't seem to be marking pdf as demo, either.

Generally, the engine is 2.0 level (or 4.0, depending upon how you look at it, but 1.0 was 80s/90s, and 2.0 was spreadsheet in this view, so . . .).   Most of the rest is bata level, with some alpha here and there.

You should be able to connect now.  Please let me know if there is an error (t should give a message that will make sense to me)

You and David should both be live now.

A couple of more things that come to mind . . .

* On addresses, you can specify  just the zip code, and the rest should pop up.
* If it doesn't know what county a city is in, it will ask, and offer to set that county to that city.
* same for district.  At the moment, it expects a full name, I think (Southern District of Fredonia).
* blue text shows that you entered it; black text in fields are calculated values.
* when entering an abbreviation in dna, under circumstances I haven't identified, you may need to backspace to reload the list.  You may search by the abbreviation or pieces of the creditor name (the address, too, I think)
* To save an abbreviation for future use, Fill out the data that will repeat, choose the type of debt (normally auto-calculated when you're done with an entry), and place the cursor in the field you would normally start with (e.g., "due" for most unsecured).  Then hit the save.
* ijkey does not work at the moment.  It's purpose is to identify things such as cars (car1, car2) and mortgage (mrt1, etc.) that need special treatment.  Once it works, if you specify, say, car##, it will reduce that on save to car#, and on load will use the next available slot.

On the first pane that opens up, what is the counter at the bottom of the pane counting?

Time since the last keystroke.  When you haven't typed for 15 seconds, it synchronizes the local with the remote server.  (Now, the sync is fast enough to not be noticed on a good connection, 100-200 ms.  It was written when I was on a truly horrid connection . . .).

Also, that won't make it into the shipping version; it's more of a canary--if it stops, it means that you' re no longer syncing, which I don't think is a problem any more (actually, the problem was apparently related to the development environment, and not executables)
