Journal labels - a new feature

As of 6th March 2024, we have added journal labels to our metadata and will expose this in our JSON through the new 'bibjson.labels' field.

Our API page will be updated to reflect the change this Thursday.

The first label we have gone live with is for our community of 'Subscribe to open' (S2O) journals. We have consulted with the S2O community and are pleased to say that over 60 journals have the label already. You can see the S2O logo in our journal search results and on individual journal entries.

Additional labels are planned but have not yet been confirmed. Some examples might be:

• mirror journal
• discontinued
• Diamond journal
• flipped journal
• author retains all rights
