Mobile Application Wants/needs

Hi Everyone,

There has been occasional request for a mobile app, rather than just bringing up the page in a browser. What are your wants/needs for said app? What could wait for a version 2?

I'd love one! We're all Android in my household, so an iOS app wouldn't do us any good, but an Android one would be great.

Besides showing the equivalent of the mobile version of the web page, some things that would be nice (but not necessary, per se):

1. Easy way to add item images using the device's camera

2. Easy way to add new items via scanning the barcode ("UPC"/UCC-12/whatever)

3. Easy way to check items as received via scanning the barcode

But really, just having an easier way of getting to the list itself would be great -- a good start, if nothing else. :)

A mobile app would be really useful. Our family is pretty evenly split between iOS and Android.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was hoping to be able to put something together for this year. That's looking pretty unlikely as it requires a bigger rewrite of the authentication system than I expected. That rewrite will end up adding support for Oauth login (login through Google, facebook, etc.) but is a pretty significant overhaul of the existing user auth system.

That's not to say it can't be done, I just don't know if it'll get done the way you'd want it.
