FYI n action.
Dear Residents,
As We already know, Waste Management is a very fundamental aspect in a Society and is crucial too. The Association has initiated the waste segregation process and We request all the noble residents to read and follow the below points.
We firmly request the Owners to pass this mail to their tenants if they have rented their flats. BBMP is performing ad-hoc inspections in Apartments and are imposing huge fines if waste segregation is not being followed strictly.
1. From 01st Jan, 2016 (Friday) all the dustbins will be moved to one integrated location between DNA marketing office and Opulence (picture attached). Everyone have to dispose their garbage at this one point only.
2. The waste/garbage has to be segregated as dry, wet & sanitary/medical waste and to be disposed in their respective allocated garbage containers only.
3. There are 3 types of garbage containers arranged,
a. Blue Container – Only for Dry waste; wastes like plastic, metal, paper, rexin, leather, thermocol, cloth, glass, etc. can be thrown preferably without cover or with paper cover.
b. Green Container – Only Wet/Kitchen waste; the wet waste includes cooked/uncooked food, fruit/vegetables, meat, leaves/plants, vegetable peels, egg, etc. It should NOT be thrown via plastic bags, No plastic bags allowed. We can use Paper bags or can use Newspapers as the base of our wet waste dustbins and throw the wet waste with the newspaper base, we can use multiple newspapers depending on wet waste type.
c. Red Container – Only sanitary/medical waste; wastes like diapers, medical cotton buds, pads, medicines, c****m, injections, toilet wastes to be preferably wrapped in paper or plastic (qualified microns black plastic bags) should be disposed in it.
4. We have to use Green dustbins for wet waste disposal in our homes too as the security will not allow residents to throw wet waste if the personal dustbin is not of green color, this will help us to identify the defaulters.
5. We request everyone to use ONLY green dustbin for wet waste and any other color for dry (prefer blue/yellow) and sanitary (prefer red) waste. The Campus Supervisor (Mr. Mohan) or the Security Supervisor will be having a green paint from tomorrow till 15th Jan, if anyone not comfortable buying a new dustbin can get their existing dustbin painted in Green color for WET waste only.
6. Few pictures are attached with this mail to provide more information about segregation, please refer the posters pasted throughout the Campus/Noticeboards also.
7. A mandatory fine of Rs. 200 per event will be imposed if anyone is found not following the segregation.
8. Please do not throw the garbage from far, kindly reach till the containers and throw it properly inside. No littering of garbage/waste will be entertained even inside the waste/garbage room, the garbage should be thrown inside the container and the cap/lid should be reinstated. Any violations will attract a penalty of Rs. 200.
9. We have planned for a meeting on 3rd Jan, Sunday at 10:00 AM to spread this information and increase awareness, We request all residents to join us and also bring your respective maid servants in this meeting.
Waste Management is a Universal challenge, it’s our duty to help in accomplishing it as a responsible citizen & society to help the Environment sustain. Let’s join our hands together to make this happen.
