Timing Strategies in Arduino Code

Hello Group,

I am going to be using DmxSimple for a simple light installation. I
want to be able to control the timing of lights on four different
channels independently. I was wondering what the best way is to time
events using Arduino. For example, what if I want a light on channel 1
to fade from 0 to 255 in 10 seconds and at the same time a light on
channel 2 to fade from 180 to 20 in 4.5 seconds and then flash every 2
seconds after? What is the best way to time these different
independent events?
