Are there any plans to incorporate a visualizer into DMXIS? I would sure love to be able to design a light show at "work"
for my "real" job on the the weekends!

I would absolutely love to see this as well! I'm envious of my friends who get to use WYSIWYG and the like. Maybe there's a way to route the DMXIS box's output into another computer running a visualizer with an ENTTEC USBPro? Sound feasible to anybody?

Actually you can do that, but I was hoping for something that would open on the same computer and didn't require me to buy more hardware another program and use 2 computers.

Writing a visualizer is quite a bit of work and it's really not clear that ENTTEC is in that business!

I don't see any reason why you couldn't have another visualizer program running on the same computer using the same input or controller program that's driving DMXIS to drive it.  For example, I'm using Ableton Live, and even though that's a pretty primitive program when it comes to this sort of thing, it'd be pretty easy to route timing outputs to some other sort of visualizer, perhaps written in Max/MSP, and just as easy to route audio outputs to some other visualizer program (not sure if the free iTunes visualizer allows an external input... I just tried in this train station and there didn't seem to be a way to select an eternal inout to iTunes)

Thanks for letting me know what business ENTTEC isn't in, I don't believe I said anything about them "writing" a visualizer either, I'm pretty sure I asked if there were any plans to
incorporate one, ie... being able to use an existing visualizer on the same computer without having to buy extra hardware...  I'm sorry if it wasn't clear but it was also implied that if
this was possible, how do you do it?

Thanks

You can do that? Awesome! Which program accepts DMX from an external USB source, and how do you set it up?

Well on another forum dbrown the writer of DMXIS says this,

"There's no visualizer with DMXIS because we want to keep the price low

However, you can use ANY visualizer with DMXIS. For example, Sunlite's "Magic 3D" would work just fine. Simply plug the output of the DMXIS box into the input of the Sunlite box, and off you go.

Doing it this way has some real benefits. First, you are visualizing the real data leaving the DMXIS hardware, which is a much better test of your show than an "internal" visualizer displaying what it thinks should be leaving the hardware.

Second, it lets you run the visualizer on a separate computer, so you don't increase the CPU load of your main show machine.

Dave. "

So it can be done but its a bit more of a hassle...

This quote was from 2 years ago though, that's why I'm inquiring as to if they have considered doing it now within the DMXIS itself or not.
