More details on the upcoming DMSFS Meeting & Winter
Potluck at the Birdland Shelter House (2100 Saylor Road in Des Moines) for our
first (I hope) annual DMSFS Meeting and Winter Potluck.

We have the shelter house from 5-9pm - at 8pm we will clean up and be out of
the shelter house by 9pm.
A few other things to note about the potluck:
The shelter house is heated, but you might want to bring a blanket or two to put on the inside benches for sitting since we don’t know how “heated” the shelter house might be prior to us getting there.
Feel free to bring whatever table games you feel like: Dalmuti, Flux, Banana-Grams, etc.
There are a few outdoor grills by the shelter house. We will light these
grills so you may cook a slab of something over hot charcoal. There are
plenty of lights outside so you can see to grill even in the winter evening.
Bring a main or side dish to share. Bring whatever you feel like: salad,
dessert, casserole, etc.
Bring along plates and silverware. We will have some plastic silverware
and plates and cups just in case.
We will provide a coffee maker with hot water for hot chocolate, tea, etc., and another coffee maker with hot coffee.
NO ALCOHOL. We did not secure the necessary permits, so no booze. Plus
this is a public DMSFS function and alcohol is not appropriate. Feel free
to bring whatever non-alcoholic beverage you desire.
I am really looking forward to this potluck (and the summer potluck) becoming
annual DMSFS events!

Also, I need lots of buttons here at the museum for a Dec. 30 Girl Scout daycamp. They are going to work on assembled art projects. Flat buttons of any size and color work best. They don't have to be fancy ones.
