I just found out today that L. Neil Smith died last Friday. It wasn't as much of a surprise as I wish it were; he was 75 years old, had had a stroke several years ago, and had just come through Covid.
He and I were friends; mostly online, but if I was in his part of the world, I'd try to get together with him for an afternoon. I wrote off-and-on for his online zine, the Libertarian Enterprise, and his wife said that he thought well of me.
