Freon on Sale at Big Lots

Assuming my Big Lots is running a nationwide sale, R134 is on sale for $6.77 per can though July 7.

(Bonus: Made in USA freon -- Johnsen's brand).

Correction: if you dig out your old credit card receipts, then complain to the store manager that your reward points aren't accumulating (apparently the damn things have a 12 month expiration date), she will write you a 20% off coupon on the spot that brings the cost to $5.42 per can.

Bill is a silly old man.  You can get a case of 12 (12 ounce cans) of r134a at Sam's Club any day of the week for just $54.  This comes out to $4.50 a can.

The closest Sams Club is about 60 miles sway. Even if I drive the DeLorean up & back, I'll spend $16.51 in gas (truck will cost $22.93) -- prorate that to the per can cost.

Big Lots is a mile from my house -- I could walk up there to buy freon if I wanted to.

Sam's club offers the same unconditional money back guarantee that Walmart does.  This also applies to their membership fee.  As long as you call the 800 number on the back of your card and cancel before your yearly membership is up, you will receive a full refund for your membership fee which makes your membership free.

 

When you are ready to buy something from Sam's club again, simply walk in, pay for a membership, and cancel a few weeks before the year is up.  You can repeat the process as many times as you would like.

 

Bill drives his silly car half way across the USA several times a year.  It wouldn't cost him anything extra in gas to stop at one of the many Sam's clubs sitting on the side of the interstate to pickup a case of r134a.

Does Big Lots count as a DeLorean vendor if their freon is going into a DeLorean? ie: If I win Steve's $50 raffle, can I use it to buy a case of freon at Big Lots? That would bring their per can price down to $1.24.
