I've put up a good many VINS on this site so far.  With a little research, I found the VIN of the Jim Varney D, the Sammy Davis Jr. D, Ace Frehley D, etc.  It's no secret that others have collected their own private VIN lists.  They keep certain ones close to the vest in case they ever come up.  This way, it's all public.  My goal is to have a line or two for every VIN in the next couple of years.

Very cool! I own dmcvins.com now, I decided to archive it when Bernie passed away to make sure it stayed around. I've been thinking of doing something similar with the domain, providing a way for owners to post a page up about their cars, talk about what makes them unique, any history, add any updates or projects going on. I'm a web developer by day so I figured I'd write a web app to do it.

I also have dmcv.in, I figured it would be cool to have a short URL for your VIN, like http://dmcv.in/3472 (not an active link at the moment, just an example).

"7041 was the recipient of a carb conversion in 2009 from the famed Bill R."

Love that line! :-)

Will DMCToday T-shirts be for sale at DCS'14?

How much does a vendor booth cost?  If it isn't too expensive, we could setup a vendor booth (as a gag of course) and offer stickers, shirts, and carb conversions.  I'm sure moderators of the other forum would love it.  Oh wait, I forgot, they don't travel and as a result of this they weren't at the last DCS.

DMCTalk moderators travel -- just not in DeLoreans. Prerequisite to be a DMCTalk moderator:
a) Do not own a DeLorean
b) Own a DeLorean that does not run

I'll volunteer to help set-up, work, and take down the booth if you do decide to do something like this!

I'm not sure if it costs anything... If it does I haven't been told yet and will have over 1800 products displayed, 9 engine displays, two rolling chassis and three cars. Hope they do not send the bill after the event.....

Perhaps we could sell a few stickers and shirts and Josh's booth.

That would set chad through the roof.
Just joking.  This forum needs to be independent of vendors, but I do thank Josh and Mr Heninger for being our first two vendor members.

Yeah, Bill doesn't make anything for DeLoreans.

*FOUR* cases of freon for Brandon.

Everyone is welcome at the booth including anyone interested in selling stickers or shirts. I'm sure he will be fine.

Bill needs to wear a shirt to DCS with a picture of him wearing a captain's hat, a '+' sign, a picture of a carburetor, an '=' sign, and a picture of a DeLorean.

That would be SWEET!

So James Espey and I could be moderators if we wanted? LOL

I suppose James could be a moderator of DMCTalk but not DMCToday.  You can't be a vendor and moderate this forum.

On another note, I'm thinking about selling long speedometer cables.  I supposed I will have to give up my ownership/admin rights if I ever start selling stuff.

Aren't you making this more complicated than it needs to be? Nobody's going to care if you sell a small number of home made speedometer cables.

Just task one or two people with responsibility to keep the site alive if/when something fails at the code level, then just let user chips fall wherever they fall.

DMCTalk's biggest weakness is that it takes itself too seriously now. It started as hippy Apple in a garage but has since become IBM in a glass tower.

Bill.

+1.  seems to be more like a service to the DMC community than anything.  steve's always helping people out, and this is no different.
