Hey All,
DANIEL'S DISCIPLINED PRAYER LIFE.
Daniel 6: 1-13
Imagine
that the civil authorities in your country have enacted a law
prohibiting prayer, public or private, upon penalty of death. Knowing
that your very life is at stake you have a choice to make. You can obey
the edict, you can go underground with your prayer life or you can
continue on praying as you have always done and pay consequences.
Daniel
faced this same choice and scripture is very clear on his decision. He
continued to pray on his knees three times each day, just as he had
done before. The spiritual disciplines Daniel had established early on
stayed with him throughout his life. He refused to be intimidated by the
threats of those in power. He refused to worship any other god. Daniel
understood then what Jesus later talked about when He instructed people
not to fear those who could only harm the body.(math 10.28)
Regardless
of how pressured you feel by the demands of your life and schedule, no
matter what ridicule you might face from those around you, dare to be a
Daniel
and pray when you need to pray. God is greater than any intimidation or diversion you might face.
