I know Who Is in Control

 Jesus woke up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea: "Stop! Be quiet!"-Mark 4:39

I was learning to drive in Chennai, India.   One morning, I was driving on a busy road with the coach sitting next to me. I was so nervous that I stepped on the accelerator by mistake when I was supposed to step on the brakes. I watched in panic as the car rushed forward, but stopped suddenly.   It turned out that the coach who had been sitting in the  passenger seat stepped on the brake steadily. When I was panicked and at a loss, my coach calmly stabilized the situation. 

Mark  described how Jesus was sleeping peacefully on the boat, but the disciples were panicked because of the strong sea wind.  The panicked disciples woke up Jesus, and He came out to calm the storm on the sea ( 4:35-41).   Why can Jesus be calm and stable in the storm, while his disciples who were experienced fishermen were terrified?  Because Jesus is in charge of all situations, including  the terrible storm.

 Our Lord is not only powerful enough to control all things in the world, He is able to control the various situations we encounter.  There is no situation beyond the control of the Lord.   Just as Jesus can calm the storm, so can He lead us through crises and challenges safely. 

 If you are in a terrible storm today, remember that Jesus is in full control. Not only can He bring peace and rest into your heart, He can also take you out of the storm.

What kind a storm are you experiencing now?   How can you remind yourself that Jesus is in full control of your situation?

Lord, thank you, because you guard me with your love and power. Help me to trust You completely, to believe that You are in complete control of my situation.

 

我知谁掌权

耶稣醒了，斥责风，向海说：“住了吧！静了吧！”—马可福音4章39节

当我在印度钦奈学习开车的时候，在某天清早，我在交通繁忙的路段开车，教练就坐在旁边。我非常紧张，紧张到本来要踩刹车却一脚误踩油门。我惊慌地看着车子猛然往前冲出去，但又突然停了下来。原来是一直坐在副驾驶座上的教练，稳稳地踩了刹车。当我惊慌地不知所措时，我的教练却很平静地稳住了情况。

马可福音4章35-41节描述了耶稣平静地睡卧在船上，门徒却因海上狂风大作而陷入惊恐。惊慌的门徒叫醒了耶稣，祂才出来平静了海上的风暴。为什么耶稣能在风暴中平静安稳，而祂的门徒中有些是经历过不少风浪的渔夫，却是惊恐万分？

耶稣之所以能在风暴中平静安稳，因为祂掌管一切的情况。我们的主不仅大有能力，所有的受造物和世上一切的事物都由祂掌管，这也包括我们所遭遇的各种处境。没有任何情况是主不能掌控的。正如耶稣能够平静风暴（39节），祂也能够带领我们平安地经过危机与挑战。

如果今天你正处在可怕的风暴中，请记得耶稣完全掌权。祂不仅能将平静安稳带进你心，祂也能带你走出风暴。
