Forgot Password

Dear All,

I have created a DCTM suite setup in my machine(oracle+content server+webtop).

Oracle and content server(DCTM SERVER MANAGER) are working fine.

Issue is , i forgot the password for logging into webtop.

Now how can i know the password ?

Hi yogi,

 

Try with your installation owner name and password, this will work. Once you login into the server, create dmadmin and other users. And if you don’t know the installation password itself, then you need to delete all docbases and create them again (assuming you know Oracle SA’s password). And if you forget the oracle password itself, then uninstall everything and start installing one by one.

If you have forgot Oracle SA password then follow the below steps.

 

1. Open command prompt in the box where you have installed Oracle

2. Type  : sqlplus / nolog

3. Type  :  connect / as sysdba

4. You will get SQL Prompt now give the following command

5. Alter user <SA username> identified by NEW_PASSWORD

6. Commit

7. Exit

 

This will change your SA password. If you have problem in Step 3 connect using sys/sys

Sudhakar,

1.the issue is something like this......

To the machine where i have installed DCTM suite., that machine does not have any login creadentials(i.e., )
 if i start the machine it boots and logs into window xp directly. It will not prompt for any passwords.
2.So, while installing content server, System has asked me for userid and password(for validation).As the machine doesnot have any log in credentials.., i clicked on next.., i got a screen like"validating password" and it failed.

3. At theis point of time i went into my computer>>manage>> accounts>> user>>"here i created a user">>Admin>><password>

4. then i have come bak to icontente server installaiont wndow and gave the same user id and password. it is validated and installtion went further with which i was able to successfully create a doc-base.

5.Then later i installed webtop. it was aslo successful.

6.But to login inot webtop, i am trying to give the same userid and password which i gave at content server installation, But i am not able to login.

So., please help me how to proceed now.

Hi Yogi,

 

are you able to login into XP system with your Admin user and password?

If So, then try restart Docbroker and Docbase services which will be using the Admin user and Password to get up. The services has to up and running. If Not so, open services.msc (service manager), change the user name and password in each services.

 

 

 

 

 

See, the procedure for installing Content Server in XP home edition is,

 

1. Create a local administrator user (dmadmin) and password should not be blank

 

2. Restart your System

 

3. Login as the local administartor

 

4. Install RDBMS (note down the SA password)

 

5. Install the Content Server (If it asks for username password, give local administrator user name and password)

 

6. Create the docbases (If it asks for username password, give local administrator user name and password) (give SA and its password)

 

7. Using DA, login into DA with local administrator, create other users.
