A firmware update (v1.14) is available for the DM48X.

Includes the following upgrades compared to v1.10:
  • Screen turns off after long periods of inactivity (5 hours), to prevent screen burn-in e.g. when left for charging unattended
  • Three new default tunings added: diminished, wholetone and bebop (note that these will become available only after resetting tunings to factory defaults)
  • Modulation and bend (pitch) sensitivity can now be adjusted individually for the ribbon controller
  • A “Swam” global preset was added, to facilitate playing with SWAM instruments from Audio Modeling (use this preset together with default settings in SWAM apps on iOS)
  • Swam and Geoswam (for SWAM in GeoShred) presets now default to using the ribbon in “Bend/mod” mode, such that swiping left causes bending while right controls vibrato
  • Minor interface tweaks

Note: Presets need to be reset to factory defaults after installing. Tunings do not require resetting unless you want the new default tunings.

Warning: DM48X only - installing this update on a DM48 will render the instrument unusable.

Hi Erik, are there any more firmware updates planned for original DM48 users?

Thanks!
Ben

Most likely not. The firmware flash is in fact fully packed and the last few updates required optimization to allow a bit more code to be squeezed in. Also, I consider it to be quite complete functionality-wise, within the limits of the hardware.

In the DM48X only a fraction of the memory is used at the moment.
