Hi, all,
I have reduced the time to complete my exercise regimen from 40 to 30 minutes. I still make small mistakes but recover quickly without having to restart the particular exercise. This means I have greater awareness of where I am on the instrument and where I am in the exercise so I can correct on the fly without having to reset my brain back to the start.
Also, I came to the realization that I make more mistakes when I'm recording for this simple but very logical reason:
Making mistakes while playing live means the mistake is gone in an instant, but making a mistake on a recording is there forever.
So, now I record all of my practice sessions and I already see a decrease in mistakes because I'm getting desensitized to the "mistakes are forever" thoughts. Maybe that can help others, as well.
I practiced this way for a few weeks and decided to finish up the YouTube videos for the intervals and triad exercises. I finished the graphics parts yesterday, and all I have to do is record them. It should be another 45 to 50 videos.
I'm going continue recording my practice sessions and then take clips from them to use in the videos.
I'm ahead of schedule. I hope to have everything completed within a couple of weeks. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks,
S...
