I'm a guitar player that plays harmonica and I'm interested in getting a DM48X, but I would need to use it hands free on a holder. I hope that the slider can be converted to a pedal. Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks Tim

Yes, this is very possible, and I did it!  I opened the instrument, drilled a small hole in the back plate, then installed and wired a 1/8" jack in parallel with the internal slider switch.  With a 1/8" plug on the end of a cable to a momentary switch -normally open- foot pedal.  Works like a charm.
I ALSO tried a small liquid mercury switch wired in parallel to the slider switch inside the instrument's case so I could just nod and have the slider engage.  This worked, but poorly as any extraneous head movement would often trigger the mercury switch.
