Hi, all,

I created a lot of this content around 20 years ago when I was playing diatonic harp a couple hours per day over 10+ years. I was able to allocate so much time because it was during my lengthy commute to and from work. I was alone in the car and didn't have to worry about annoying anyone while I practiced..

I stopped playing about 10 years ago when I met my current partner. I didn't have the long commute anymore and I didn't want to subject her to my practicing scales and triad exercises every day.

When I was getting ready to retire I thought about playing again because she would be at work so I could play at home alone.

I was very rusty to put it mildly, and I was researching whether I might want to transition to chromatic harp since I favor playing contemporary smooth jazz.

It was at that time I stumbled upon the DM48.  It seemed to be a perfect fit for my goals and I could play it silently anytime.

I bought one and started experimenting with different tunings and settings. I kept track of it all in spreadsheets. I eventually landed on a custom tuning and settings that best suited my needs. This process probably took several months to complete. I was getting proficient quickly so I thought I'd put together some youtube videos to share my experiences learning the DM48 using much of my foundation on the diatonic harp and then segwaying to the DM48.

There are 17 videos, each around 10 minutes. I used powerpoint animations and camtasia for the video narrations of each powerpoint slide. I just now published the first 3 to start.

My YouTube link is at the top but if you're wary of clicking random links you can look up TheHarpGuySanDiego directly from YouTube.

These are my first take. There are some slideshow timing issues on one of them but brief. I plan to re record them again but right now my priority is playing so I'm gonna share them like this for now. There's some clicking sounds but you can still understand me fine I think.

If I get some positive feedback I'll post a few more at a time.

Thanks,
S...
