Chris Hein Chromatic Harmonica plugin

I've just come across a harmonica plugin called Chris Hein Chromatic Harmonica (Lite and Full Version):

I emailed a website that sells it about compatibility with the DM48 and got this reply:

"The Chris Hein Chromatic Harmonica Lite is a virtual instrument plugin designed for use within digital audio workstations (DAWs). It is not an app in the traditional sense, but rather a software plugin that can be used within compatible DAWs or in Standalone Mode.
Regarding compatibility with the Lekholm DDM48X wind controller, it depends on whether the wind controller can be configured to send MIDI data that corresponds to the control parameters expected by the plugin. If the wind controller can send MIDI data in a format that the plugin recognizes, then it should be possible to use the two together."

Has anyone bought this plugin, or can they tell if it would work? I am new to this MIDI and DAW world and can't tell.

If not this one, is there another app/plugin that DM48 users like?

It’s musically not very impressive, but around 45 seconds and onward in you’ll hear the Chris Hein Chromatic Harmonica - and toward the end my son even plays it. 

It’s quite expensive and although it may be capable of producing a relatively realistic chromatic harmonica sound, the “feel” will be very different - and as others have said, nothing beats the real thing if you want the sound of a chromatic harmonica. It also runs only on desktop computers which some may find inconvenient.

Thanks for the info Erik. The fact that it only runs on desktop defeats what I was going after—to play through my ipad.

I thought it would be fun to fool listeners unfamiliar with the DM48 to think I was playing a harmonica and then shift to the other wonderful sounds the DM48 can play. 

That video is 6 years old—your son must be an expert by now!
