Hello,

I was wondering how big is the overhead of the dm-cache metadata in the RAM ? In other words how much is the metadata size for each 4KB data blocks ?

I have no idea about the in memory data structure that dm-cache used to find the answer of this question.

Thanks
Alireza

Hello Alireza,

I have a pdf describing the size of the structures, basically
for a cache size of 64GB you need 512MB of memory.

more detail in the attached file
