Attempted Abduction in Merrifield

A 22-year-old Vienna woman was the victim of an attempted abduction on
Monday, April 28 shortly after 10:30 p.m. The victim was walking alone
in the 8100 block of Heatherton Lane when a man approached her from
behind, grabbed her and attempted to drag her backward. She was able to
free herself and run, unharmed. The suspect fled toward Hartland Road.

The suspect was described as white, in his mid 20s. He was approximately
5 feet 9 inches tall and weighed about 155 pounds. He had very short,
brown hair and was unshaven. He was wearing a gray, long-sleeved T-shirt
and dark pants.
