Subject: Requesting Your Prayers for Lent

In anticipation of Easter

I am the living bread that came down from heaven;

whoever eats this bread will live forever;

and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.

John 6:51

Our human experiences often focus on preparation and transformation: preparing dough to bake into bread; fermenting grapes for wine; transforming raw ingredients into meals for friends; becoming a teacher or a laborer through instruction and education.

These themes are carried through in our faith: simple bread and wine prepared for supper become the Eucharist; Christ suffers and is then transfigured; death becomes life.

Lent is also a reflection of these human and divine themes. We prepare for Easter through almsgiving, fasting and prayer. In the process, we are transformed, made ready to renew our Baptismal promises and celebrate the resurrection.

The Brothers of our Provincialate and Holy Family Communities would like to support you as you prepare the way in your heart, your mind, and your spirit during Lent. They will add their own prayers for you and for your intentions. Simply CLICK HERE to be taken to our website where you may fill out and submit the request form.

Wishing you a fruitful Lent and a most blessed Easter, on behalf of all of us here at Lasallian Christian Brothers Foundation.

Fraternally,

Brother Mark Murphy, FSC
