Dear Maiden Heights Owners and Residents,
In the wake of latest developments, the Association in its
emergency meeting few minutes ago, has decided to completely stop
the entry of maids / cooks / drivers / etc. in Maiden Heights
starting from 24th March 2020 till further notice / at
least till 06th April 2020.
The recent developments which contributed to such decision was
-
- The requests from residents on the reason to allow their maids
inside the apartment was given as either being busy as working
professionals or having kids in the home. We do not have more words
to express the insensitivity shown by people towards this serious
situation citing everyday little inconvenience as the reason to
sign an undertaking and put their, family members and other
residents of the society at risk.
- Maids calling other owners proactively suggesting them to
submit a letter so that while they can visit flat A they can also
come and do the work at flat B. Surprisingly such owners instead of
educating their maids are actually going ahead and submitting
requests with fictional reasons to highlight the urgency of the
maid. The whole purpose of stopping the same maid from visiting
multiple houses in the apartment was getting defeated.
- Please refer to this article that has just come to our notice
- https://bangaloremirror.indiatimes.com/bangalore/others/apartment-complex-in-lockdown-in-bengaluru/articleshow/74720936.cms.
This has happened in Embassy Woods Apartment on Cunningham road in
Bangalore. No society should go through what they are going
through.
- We have heard through unverified rumors that some
residents who have returned from Dubai have been given entry
2-3 days ago in Woodland Heights without imposition of home
quarantine requirements. The above article and this rumor if
found to be true, escalates the risk quotient of infection via
household maids significantly as many maids work both in MH and WH
and in Woodland Heights there is still no restriction on entry of
maids. We cannot take a casual stand on this and we hope the rumor
is at best - a rumor.
We request nobody to create any chaos at the gate tomorrow or
at maintenance office regarding the stopping of their maids / cooks
/ drivers / etc. else those residents will eb simply reported to
the Jigani Police Station and will be subject to FIR and trial
under IPC sections 188, 269, 270, 271, etc.
We hope it shall not reach the above stage that we are forced
to report residents to the Police but if we will have to take such
an action, we will, in the interest and safety of all residents
because it is already evident that an exception granted earlier by
us on humanitarian grounds for exceptional cases is already being
misused to no end. We request everyone to think rationally and
support the Association and the Maintenance & Security team in
all enforcements.
Stay safe, Stay healthy.
Thanks,
