Something called BackDoor-AZV, according to McAfee
VirusScan.

*gasp* A >virus< in a newsgroup. Tell me it ain't so!

It goes nicely with the 20 or so mailed to me on a daily basis.

I'm trying to get the entire set: "Gotta catch 'em all."

I'd have hoped the big ISPs that carry the newsgroups
where it was posted would have virus detection and
removal software that would get rid of it, but
apparently not.

Sorry to anyone who gets this in the C.P.
But just to let "klyf" know. your <SARC> was noted but this came into a
group where there are plenty of newbie's to USENET and very little spam.
Just cos you know doesn't mean everyone does !!

Nice to look after the youngsters cos one day they may be pushing your

That's no excuse for spamming *eight* newsgroups with "virus
wanings". Just because you happen to use an insufficiently filtered
newsserver that lets you see those viruses doesn't mean that you
should bother all the rest of us, who see nothing but your silly
warnings.

(Yes, I'm spamming eight newsgroups too, because I don't know in which
of them I can find "Robert". And given the number of "warnings" from
his hands we have seen recently, I assume that we can lower the total
amount of noise if we spend a couple of postings beating some sense
into him).

of identifying the handwriting much more difficult."

I would say the chances of him getting a clue, even after a sound
thrashing would be slim to none.

Remember, this is the feeb that automatically assumes that ISP's filter
for content.
