Today I visited the cemetary in Oregon, where my grandfather and
grandmother are buried. Here is my grandfather's name as it appears on
the gravestone:

Peter C.N. Lauridsen
November 9, 1860 - December 11, 1947

I am told he came to the USA with his daughter "Gerti" (Magrethe ?)
and that his wife had died. He was a wealthy man until the great
depression in the USA.
Maybe he had been a farmer in Denmark... I'm not sure.

He married my grandmother, who was younger than "Gerti." Her stone
reads:

Marie Lena Lauridsen
December 19, 1885 - November 11, 1964

She was first generation in the USA. Her parents were from Denmark but I
know little else right now. They reportedly had my mother and her twin
sister in Loyal, Iowa.
Earlier she lived in Colorado, I believe.

I don't know if this helps or not. I will check further with the old
people in the town they settled in (Junction City, Oregon.)
