I just installed (upgraded from Win 98 to be exact) Win 2000 Pro on my
system (P2/266) and cannot get the dial-up 56K modem (USR Winmodem) to
work. Get "Can't connect to modem" error.
All was fine before the install.
I tried to troubleshoot the problem through device manager and appears
"this device is working - no conflict". However, when I try to quary
the modem, no luck.
Any ideas.... ANYTHING would help.
Thanks - Robert
P.S. When installing, Win 2000 checked for conflicts with hardware....
modem NEVER came up. All I saw was a problem with my video "Capture
Card" (Zoltrics B4T4T something or the other).
