Yesterday Stones Throw Records' reported that Aloe Blacc is their first artist to go gold with last year's release Good Things.  Woo hoo for indie labels and bigger woo hoo for the man himself.  I had a chance to meet him briefly after he performed at UC Irvine last spring and he is a pretty nice guy.  Check his cover of Jay-Z's 99 Problems he performed on Radio 1's Live Lounge last week. (Why don't we have channels like Radio 1 here?)
