This weekend was probably one of the busiest but most fun weekends I have ever had. A couple friends and I rented a car and drove the marathon journey from the Bay Area to the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Don't sleep on the Chevy HHR. Somehow we were able to manage 25+ mpg in the stretch pt cruiser looking thing. We checked out the new Marquee nightclub where Ferry Corsten was headlining that night. The club is crazy nice, especially the pool/patio area, except that you gotta walk up 6 flights of stairs to get to it. It is worth it though so definitely give it a go if you get a chance.
The next day, we cashed in our winnings and headed out to San Bernardino for Paid Dues Festival 2011. This year's event was definitely bigger than last year in both attendance and artists, with huge crowds split up amongst the 3 stages. Murs killed his set as usual, and topped it off by performing a couple covers and remixes with the live band, Whole Wheat Bread. With covers of Bulls on Parade, Walk like an Egyptian and the Crookers remix of Busy P's To Protect and Entertain, Murs put on a crazy alternative show that few could expect at the underground hip hop festival.
I am still tired from this. But it was so worth it.
